A glimpse of our day thus far.....is it too early for a glass of wine? ;)

On a more serious note, painting is something Olive enjoys doing everyday. With Fine Artists on both sides of our family (including my husband) we are not surprised and encourage it (most of the time;)!

ABC Carpet and Home, on 18th and Broadway, is one of our favorite places to spend a rainy day. It is truly a wonderland for both adult and child. The kids selection, on the third floor, is some of the best in the city, featuring both local brands and artisans, such as Wovenplay, Anais and I,  and Makie, as well as some of my favorite oversees brands like, ESP no.1, Album Di Famiglia, and Littl by Lilit. Other than all the eye candy, the best part about this place is that the women who run it make you feel like you are at home-- encouraging Olive to play and touch things while I poke around and take pictures! ;)

I've always loved contrasting colors, fabrics and looks. It keeps things fun and cheerful, yet sophisticated and grounded, right? ;)

Olive sported vintage from hat to coat today-- her choice, of course! ;)   A dear friend, who lives in Stockholm, gave Olive this hat, which is actually from Norway originally. She wore it (as many Norwegian's did) as a tot, and we just adore it! Olive's coat is from L.A. brand, Blue Pony Vintage-- one of my absolute favorites! They take vintage fabrics and turn them into brilliant, new, masterpieces for the modern child.
